Inspection led by Corporation Commissioner: 102 fined for not wearing mask
Coimbatore: In the Race Course area, corporation officials fined 2 companies for not following the social distancing. Those who did not wear the mask were fined Rs 200 each.
Led by Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian, officials inspected the Poo market area too yesterday. Those who were buying flowers, waiting for the bus, those who went in vehicles were monitored and those who did not wear face masks were fined Rs 200 each.
The commissioner then inspected the market premises and said, ‘The corporation should appoint a permanent employee and make an awareness. He said violation is punishable by a fine and said that half the shops should be relocated to avoid crowds in one place. The commissioner, who then inspected the Racecourse area, fined him Rs 5,400 for not following a social distancing and not wearing a face mask at a bakery.
Another shop was fined Rs 5,000 and two men for not wearing face masks were fined Rs 200 each. 102 people were fined in the Central Zone of the Corporation for the offense of not wearing a face mask. 47, 40 in the East Zone, 11 in the West Zone, 11 in the South Zone, for a total of 102 persons, at the rate of 200 rupees per head, Rs. 20,400 was collected as fine. In the east zone, the inspection was carried out in 22 shops and irregularities were found in 4 places. A fine of Rs 600 was imposed on them
While inspecting three shops in Central zone one was found to be violating rules and a fine of Rs.300 was imposed.
