Coimbatore District Sunnat Jamaat Kolgai Kootamaippu petitions Collector to grant permission for special evening prayers
Coimbatore: Amidst the second wave of COVID-19 across India, the Central and State Governments have imposed various restrictions to control the spread of COVID-19. The restrictions to be followed strictly across Tamil Nadu from Saturday onward, prohibits religious gatherings.

With Ramadan, the festival of Muslims about to begin in a few days, a petition was submitted to the Coimbatore District Collector on behalf of the Coimbatore District Sunnat Jamaat Kolgai Kootamaippu seeking permission to hold special prayers at mosques till 11 pm, as is the normal religious practice for Muslims during the season.
