Chengalpattu district recorded the lowest turnout of 13.77 percent while Cuddalore registered the highest voting percentage of 27.30.
Earlier, the Tamil Nadu Election Officer, Satyaprata Sahoo addressed the media saying, "As of 11 am, the average turnout in Tamil Nadu was 26.29 percent, with Namakkal recording the highest at 28.35 percent, followed by Coimbatore at 25.52 per cent and Tirunelveli at 20.2 percent. Normal voters are allowed to vote until 6 pm, Coronavirus infected patients will vote from 6 to 7 pm. The total turnout in Tamil Nadu will be known at 7.30 pm. The turnout was 74.02 percent in the last 2016 assembly election. This time the turnout is expected to be over 80 percent," he added.
