Tirupur: Officers of the Flying Squadron were engaged in a vehicle check in front of the Panchayat Union office on the Palladam-Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway in Tirupur district today.
Today, a vehicle that was travelling from Tirupur to Coimbatore was stopped and checked. The officials found 1.9 crore rupees from the individual.
Chandran, who was in the vehicle, was interrogated. It was revealed that he carried 1.9 crore rupees from Coimbatore to Tirupur to fill 6 ICICI Bank ATMs and claimed to have taken the money back from as he did not have the password to fill up at the ATM.
The Flying Squadron officers seized the money and handed it over to Ganesan, the returning officer at the Palladam Taluk office. Since the cash did not have any documents, it has been registered.
Chandran was then asked to submit necessary documents within 2 hours and later it was taken to the district treasury on failing to submit the documents within two hours.
