12 people were injured in tussle between DMK and AIADMK cadres while campaigning at Karumbukkadai area in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: A tussle broke out between the DMK and the AIADMK when DMK cadres raised slogans against Minister S P Velumani during a campaign in the Karumbukkadai area in Coimbatore on Sunday. Twelve people were reportedly injured and admitted to the Government Hospital.
While the DMK was campaigning in the Karumbukkadai area, it was reported that the DMK cadres who saw Minister S P Velumani passing through the area shouted slogans against the Minister saying, "Down, down Velumani!" This led to an argument between the cadres of the two political parties. Even though the police tried to intervene and pacify both sides, party members ended up being injured in the brawl that ensued.
All the injured cadres have been admitted to the Government Hospital for treatment. It is reported that even at the GH, the tussle between both party members continued as a heated argument.

Coimbatore DMK East District Officer, N Karthik, MP Shanmugasundaram and Thondamuthur DMK candidate, Karthikeya Sivasenapathi visited the injured and comforted them.
