Valparai candidates indulged in intense vote-gathering sessions as today was the last day of poll campaigns.
Coimbatore: As the assembly election campaign in Valparai ends at 7 pm today, all party candidates were seen engaged in intense campaigning.
All parties are actively campaigning for the forthcoming Assembly elections on April 6th. The Election Commission had ordered that the campaigns become invalid after 7 pm today.
In Valparai, the DMDK candidate and lawyer Murugaraj, who is contesting under the AMMK alliance was seen campaigning for votes to the public in areas like Valparai and Anaimalai.
He visited the Valparai Pure Heart Temple and the Pure Correctional Temple, since it is Easter today and sought blessings.
Murugaraj also went to areas such as the Kakkan Colony, Anna Nagar Banana Plantation in Valparai and engaged in intense vote-gathering. He also asked the people to vote under the 'Murasu' symbol and said that he will work towards getting workers a pay rise, abolish the business tax and make Valparai a tourist destination after assuming office.
District AMMK General Committee Member Kunjali, Valparai City Council Secretary Nellai Selvam, Policy Dissemination Secretary Bapuji and AMMK members joined hands with DMDK Party to collect votes.
