Torchlight should be the light of your lives, preaches Kamal Haasan on his last day of campaign.
Coimbatore: Kamal Haasan, the actor and leader of Makkal Needhi Maiam party is contesting from the Coimbatore South constituency in the 2021 elections. He was seen campaigning in the Ammankulam area.
He was accompanied by Radhika Sarathkumar, the executive of All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi, a coalition party at the campaign.
She said, "The DMK calls the AIADMK a thief and the AIADMK calls the DMK a thief. Our party cannot be accused of being a thief or corrupt because we have come to work in the way of honesty." Radhika further asked the people to vote for their alliance.
Speaking at the open-van rally, Kamal Haasan said, "It is the people who have made me a star and I have come to politics to fulfil my duty to these people. I have come as an opportunity for you to prove that it is wrong for the poor to be like this without even basic facilities."
Adding, he said that this conversation is just a start and we need to talk more constantly. "Other parties think that there is no one to question them. I have entered politics to raise questions. A minister recently said that if we pay for votes notes, we will earn back through Tasmac sales. MNM has come to change this dire situation."
Kamal Haasan emphasized that the light of this torch should be the light of people's life. "I want it to be a small lamp in each of your homes. My first task is to change the situation of you living without even basic facilities like drinking water and toilets. I am not waiting for the election victory, I am waiting for the promise to begin that work," he added.
