Officials who received complaints about cookers being distributed for vote manipulation seized cookers with no proper receipts from a home appliance store in Udumalaipet .
Tirupur: Party candidates of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) which is contesting in the upcoming Assembly elections under the 'Cooker' symbol reportedly distributed cookers to the public to gain support.
It is said that the cookers arrived in a truck at a home appliances store near VOC ground in Udumalaipet which deals with cookers.

Income tax officials who were informed about this conducted an investigation at the home appliances store near VOC ground in Udumalaipet, in Tirupur District. Since the store owner said that he did not have any proper documentation for the cookers due to not having a billing facility, the officials seized the cookers and have stored them at the Tahsildar Office in Udumalaipet.
