Coimbatore: BJP Coimbatore South Constituency candidate Vanathi Srinivasan today met District Collector Nagarajan and lodged a complaint with him.
After submitting the complaint petition, Vanathi Srinivasan said, "It is the duty of the Election Commission to change officials during the meeting and that the newly-appointed officials should act impartially and not act in favour of the opposition."

Vanathi Srinivasan also said, "A statement is being spread on social media saying that the BJP has planned and caused riots among the communities in Coimbatore. This happened because of the lack of police security. Police officials must conduct an investigation about this incident. Lately, we received information that the police officials in Kuniyamuthur detained BJP members till 12 am without allowing them to eat. But nothing was confiscated from them."
Also, she said, "Change of Officers by the Electoral Commission means to act neutral but not necessarily against the ruling party. The new IG Amalraj and SP are acting in favour of the DMK party by not taking any complaints filed by AIADMK members. But these officers take the complaints filed by DMK party members. Your activities are like supporting the DMK party. I have also filed a complaint with the election commission. I have informed the press not to take advertisements on behalf of my name."
Vanathi also showed that the police officials must scrutinize the video in which the stones were thrown. "I won't think that the AIADMK party had left us stranded about this incident. We are just trying to avoid problems and do not want to cause unwanted tension because of elections," she added.
She also declared that BJP doesn't give out cash, gifts or other coupons in their party vehicles. "It is a rumour which was given to the police officials. I will file separate cases on police officials who leaked such fake news. We don't have any cashbook, I strongly condemn the actions of police officials who detained BJP party members yesterday," Vanathi added.
Vanathi Srinivasan is contesting from Coimbatore South constituency in the upcoming 2021 elections.
