Chennai: With election campaign nearing its end, DMK MP Kanimozhi has been tested positive for Covid-19.
According to reports, MP Kanimozhi who represents Thoothukudi in the Lok Sabha is presently under isolation. She has been campaigning intensively for DMK candidates across Tamil Nadu. Due to Covid, she has cancelled all her campaigns and is under isolation.
The recent surge in coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu has been largely attributed to political gatherings and carelessness by people in following Covid precautions including masking up. After five months, fresh COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu exceeded 3,000 on Friday. A total of 3,290 people tested positive for COVID-19, taking the State’s overall tally to 8,92,780.
