Case has been booked against BJP Aravakurichi MLA candidate Annamalai for issuing death threats while campaigning.
Karur: The Election Commission has taken action against Karur District Aravakurichi BJP candidate Annamalai following the a video of him intimidating DMK's MLA candidate and DMK District Secretary Senthil Balaji at an election campaign.
The video of BJP State Vice President sending out death threats went viral on social media.
Following this, the Aravakurichi police has register case against Annamalai for threatening to violently attack Senthil Balaji.
He is charged under section 153 for violation of election code of conduct during his address, under section 1596/1 for issuing death threats and under section 64 IP Act.
Also, an income tax raid is being conducted at the house of DMK candidate Senthil Balaji in Rameswarapatti, Karur district following the raid at the house of DMK leader Stalin's daughter Senthamarai.
IT officials are also conducting a raid at the residence of Ashok Kumar, the brother of candidate Senthil Balaji in Ramakrishnapuram.
