K S Alagiri campaigns in support of Udumalai constituency Congress candidate Thennarasu
Tirupur: K S Alagiri, the state Congress leader campaigned in support of the Udumalai Assembly constituency Congress candidate Thennarasu in Nalarodu, Pethappampatti near Udumalai, in Tirupur district.
"PM Modi in Dharapuram said that women would be protected only if the BJP-AIADMK alliance came to power. But thus far, the BJP and RSS have neither allowed women in their political movements nor given them prominent leadership positions even in the Hindu Mahasabha.
On the other hand, the Congress which is the second largest party in the world has given women positions as Prime Minister, President or Head of Congress, which include Indira Gandhi, Pratibha Patil and Sonia Gandhi. It is wrong for the BJP to talk about the safety of women. "Petrol, diesel and cooking gas prices have fallen despite rising crude oil prices increasing during the Manmohan Singh regime. But now under the Modi regime, the price of crude oil is falling and the price of petrol, diesel and cooking gas remains high. It was Kalaignar who said that women have equal rights to property. Our allies are the ones who truly care about women.
