Double blow for passengers at Coimbatore airport: Following SpiceJet suspension, uncertainty in 'Go Air' services rattle passengers

Coimbatore: Flight movement at the Coimbatore Airport has drastically reduced after SpiceJet airlines suspended all its services temporarily. Post the pandemic outbreak, flight movement at Coimbatore Airport has reduced and as a result, the overall revenue being generated has been badly affected.

In the last few months, just as things were turning positive since everyday flight operation numbers had increased up to 20, SpiceJet airlines which was providing many services at Coimbatore International airport suddenly suspended all its services temporarily in the past few weeks.

This was a huge blow to the overall flight operations everyday and presently 16 flights are being operated. In this scenario, 'Go Air' airlines which was providing services between Coimbatore and Mumbai has begun showing more uncertainty in providing its services. The airlines do not operate flights for four days, offers services for a day then again cancels for the ensuing days. Aviation enthusiasts are waiting for normalcy to return but unfortunately different airlines continue to suspend their services, thus causing confusion and uncertainty for passengers.

Aviation sources say, "Despite the government giving us many relaxations, fear among many passengers still remains. This is the main reason why flight movements at the airport have been hit. In the past few weeks, the Coronavirus infection rate continues to increase and due to this, the fear among passengers has also increased. We hope after the second week of April that things will be on the positive side."
