The Flying Squadron Monitoring Committees are to monitor election expenses in Coimbatore District.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District flying squad officials have seized Rs 16.09 lakhs in cash today in the city.
The flying squad officials are working on an 8-hour rotational basis divided into three groups of 9 teams each for every assembly constituency in Coimbatore. There is also a video surveillance team that operates at a rate of two groups per constituency for 12 hours.
Ahead of the elections, these teams are staffed with 2 officials within the Deputy Tahsildar cadre, 2 police officers and 1 video cameraman. The Flying Squadron Monitoring Committees are said to monitor election expenses in Coimbatore District.
