Coimbatore: The number of complaints received thus far through cVIGIL App is 688 with 503 complaints resolved.
With Tamil Nadu on the threshold of Assembly elections which will be held on April 6, the Election Control Center which has been set up in the premises of the Coimbatore District Collectorate has been functioning diligently since March 1.
The public were given access to contact the Election Control Center at 1800 425 4757 to register their complaints about cash payments to voters, posters in violation of election rules, distribution of gift items to voters, vehicle parades and complaints about alcohol distribution. Immediate action was taken by election officials and flying squad authorities on filed complaints.
Meanwhile, the number of complaints registered thus far has reached 193, out of which 124 complaints have been resolved. A total of66 complaints have been rejected and 3 are pending.
Through the cVIGIL App, the public could click a picture on their mobiles if they saw election irregularities which could then be sent to the control room.
