Flying squad seizes Rs. 22.67 lakhs in Coimbatore district on a single day
Coimbatore: The Flying Squad and Monitoring Committees that monitor election expenses in Coimbatore District are working diligently round the clock to on a rotation basis in three groups of 8 teams each for each Assembly constituency.
Similarly the video surveillance team operates at a rate of two groups per block for 12 hours. Each team is staffed by a pro-investigator, two policemen and a video cameraman, headed by an officer not below the rank of Deputy Tahsildar.
In Coimbatore district, the flying squad confiscated Rs. 22.67 lakhs in cash and other items worth Rs. 1.13 lakhs which were undocumented, on Wednesday. Thus far, Rs. 53.50 crore cash, gold jewellery and liquor has been seized in the district.
