Paiya R Krishnan who is contesting on behalf of DMK's Madhasarbatra Murpoku Kootani in Kavundampalayam, Coimbatore campaigns intensely.
Coimbatore: DMK MLA candidate for Kavundampalayam constituency Paiya (alias) R Krishnan campaigned on Tuesday across areas in Vazhiyampalayam, Veeriyampalayam, Kapikadai, Kalapatti, Nehru Nagar, Balaji Nagar, Karuparayanpalayam and Arulanadham Nagar to garner support from people asking them to vote for him under the 'Rising Sun' symbol.
Addressing the public during the campaign, R Krishnan said, "During my tenure as Panchayat President from 2001 till 2011, I took the initiative to build quality roads and ensured water tanks had adequate water supply. I have also executed welfare work for people in the area who know how I handle my responsibilities. This time I have come as the DMK candidate for Kavundampalayam to gain your votes. If you vote me to power in the upcoming elections, I will show my sincerity just as I did during my last term as Panchayat President. I kindly request you to vote for the 'Rising Sun' symbol and give DMK a huge victory," he added.
During the campaign, Paiya R Krishnan also cut open tender coconuts for voters in Kavundampalayam.
