Coimbatore: Recalling the days, little Jason Nathaniel was as young as two years old, his parents say they would keep him occupied by handing over, sheets of A4 size paper. And, how the little one would transform the blank sheets with drawing and sketching of his most cherished cartoon characters, within hours.
"It all started with working on cartoon characters. And, it was during the lockdown in June 2020 that we decided to take his talent to the next level. I wanted to make sure that the drawing and sketching initiative of my child materialises into something productive. Thus, I began to draw his attention to identifying and colouring the flags of various countries.” said Navin Kagoo, Father of Jason.

Then, little did the young boy’s parents realise that this effort will find Jason a place in the India Book of Records. As far as the India Book of Records is concerned, till date this is the debut attempt made by a child in this category.
Then kid from Coimbatore is in the limelight, as he has his name etched in the India Book of Records for a long list of things including identifying and colouring flags of 200 countries, 50 opposites, 30 traffic signals, names of 10 birds, 10 animals, 10 vegetables, 10 fruits, days of the week in English, Tamil and Hindi, months of the year, Tamil and Hindi letters.
Last year, Jason's father initiated him into identifying flags of different nations and colouring it. In a bid to help his son register the names of the nation, his father would narrate to young Jason fictional stories. The idea worked and in a span of six month’s time, five year old Jason could effortlessly identify and colour the flags of about 200 countries.
“Jason is comfortable using sketch pens and he gives crayons and colour pencils, a miss", tells his father, Navin who is the Founder of a company that assists academicians and professionals in their research work. Jason’s father begins his professional work post lunch and this gives him enough time to train his son in the mornings. The hours, days and months of spending quality time with his son has paid off, as Jason stands out from the crowd when it comes to identifying flags of countries.
When quizzed about what to expect next from Jason, in a jiffy his father said “I’d like to give my son a break for now. I do not wish to stress him. I will spend more time with him, identify what else he loves doing and we will take it from there."G Giving his son formal training in gymnastics is on the cards as his father has noticed Jason is fond of the gymnastic ring.
Pride of his parents, this kindergarten student excels in several extracurricular activities, as well including fancy dress, drawing and sketching competitions. Jason has even walked the fashion ramp as a child model and brought home laurels.
Five year old, Jason has earned his ticket to fame at a rather young age and is sure a motivation and an inspiration for kids and parents.
