Alumni students of a primary school in Okkilipalayam near Pollachi Coimbatore met a few months ago and planted Neem and Vilvha trees in the venue.
It was reported that branches from these trees which have now grown are being illegally cut and are sold by some people.
People from the village who were upset about the trees being cut, gathered and went to file a petition at the Pollachi Sub Collector's Office requesting the officials to take immediate actions regarding this incident.
But since the petition was not received there, officials from the Sub Collector's Office in Pollachi asked the villagers to give the petition in the Police station.
