Government Transport Workers protest in Coimbatore against sudden transfer of employees involved in the strike!

Tamilnadu Government Transport Department Workers have been on an indefinite strike across the state demanding the government to sanction their various requests.


Coimbatore: Tamilnadu Government Transport Department Workers have been on an indefinite strike across the state demanding the government to sanction their various requests.

As a part of the indefinite strike, a demonstration was conducted by the workers at the transport department shed in Coimbatore. Government immediately issued an immediate transfer order to those who all protested and dispersed them.



Meanwhile, the protestors took part in the demonstration today in front of the shed at Coimbatore. The demonstrators then tried to siege the premises. This created a panic in the locality.

On 26th February, a demonstration was held in Sungam, Coimbatore on behalf of the Workers Union. During the meeting ADP union got involved in an argument with the fraternity. Due to this officials have transferred 5 officials immediately.

S Mohanraj (driver number 29298) has been transferred from Sungam to Valparai, N Thirumoorthy (conductor number 20347) has been transferred from Sungam to Mettupalayam. R Kamaraj (reg number 15988) has been transferred from Sungam to Karumathampatti branch and P Selvaraj (Auditor, reg number 16383) has been transferred from Ukkadam Bus Stand Tirupur branch.

There is a continuous panic situation as the details of the workers who have been transferred are still put up at the shed entrance.

Protestors are continuing their demonstration urging the officials to revoke the transfer orders and to reinstate the members in their previous locations.
