Coimbatore: Under the Smart City Project in Coimbatore, I Love Kovai selfie corners have been created at the ponds of Periyakulam and Valangulam. These signs are decorated with shining bright lights which attracts tourists.
Areas around the ponds have been developed for public use with facilities including walking tracks, cycle trails, children play area, open auditorium, snacks corner and many other items that attract visitors.
Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian inaugurated the finished works of the Smart City projects across Coimbatore yesterday. Hence an inspection has been done now to create a boat house facility in the pond areas.
District Tourism Officer T Aravind Kumar who conducted an investigation said that Coimbatore is to be facilitated with boat house facility by the Tamilnadu Government Tourism Department.
During this inspection, Tamilnadu Tourism Development Department officials Imayavaramban, Venkatesan, Udhayashankar and other officials took part in the inspection.
