Tirupur anganwadi protestors struggle for the 4th day today in front of the district collectorate.
Tirupur: Tamil Nadu Nutrition Employees Union has been engaged in a series of struggles in front of the District Collector’s Office in Tirupur demanding the government to execute the promise made by former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
Nutrition workers across Tamilnadu who retired after 38 years of service said that they are only receiving a pension of 2,000 rupees which former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in 2016made an assurance to increase the pension of these workers. But the later government did not issue it.
TN Nutrition workers are protesting this issue along with various other demands including pension scheme for family security, Settlement of the complete retirement funds of 5 lakhs to the organisers, 3 lakhs to cooking helps and also urged the government to fill the vacant positions. The protestors who were protesting in Tirupur for the 4th day in Tirupur were exhausted due to the heat.
Protestors requested the officials to give permission for setting up tents but since it was not approved, the protestors then used the sarees they brought and created a tent out of it and continued their protest.
