Coimbatore: Prime Minister Modi tweeted in Tamil saying 'I will be in Coimbatore today'. Security has been beefed up 24/7 hours ahead of Prime Minister Modi's arrival in Coimbatore today. Prime Minister Modi will arrive in Coimbatore at 3.30 pm today on a private plane to attend the state function at the CODISSIA ground in Coimbatore and the BJP-led public meeting to be held at the CODISSIA ground.

Special arrangements to welcome the Prime Minister
Arrangements are being made to give a special welcome to the Prime Minister by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers and key leaders of the BJP. Prime Minister Modi will arrive in Coimbatore on a private plane at 3.30 pm today to attend the state function at the CODISSIA Ground in Coimbatore and the BJP-led public meeting to be held at the CODISSIA ground. Then, after attending both the shows, he leaves for the capital Delhi by private plane at 7.30 pm.
Security rehearsal show
Intensive security arrangements have been made from Coimbatore Airport to CODISSIA Ground.
The DGP, Tripathi, arrived in Coimbatore on a flight yesterday afternoon to inspect the security operations. Security operations are being carried out under the supervision of special security commandos and police high command. The rehearsal for the Prime Minister's visit took place yesterday. The rehearsal was held from the Prime Minister's Airport to CODISSIA on Avinashi Road to reach the stadium and the ground. Delhi Special Security Force commandos and Tamil Nadu police were involved in the rehearsal.
Police security has been beefed up at Coimbatore airport and surrounding areas. Police and battalion police from more than 15 districts have been called in for security. Police, with the help of sniffer dogs, are on 24-hour surveillance at all locations, including the CODISSIA Stadium and the venue.
BJP Murugan told reporters yesterday said, about one lakh people are expected to attend the BJP's public meeting, which will be attended by the Prime Minister, BJP leader LK Advani
He also said, "As assembly elections have not yet been announced in Tamil Nadu yet, the Prime Minister is coming for the second time and is scheduled to launch various projects at the event.
