Coimbatore: District Election Department Officials today have made an announcement to add 1,379 additional voting booths in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore district has around 10 assembly constituencies which have 979 polling stations and a total of 3,048 voting booths in it.
District Election Officials have now decided to add 4,427 voting booths at 1,085 polling stations. Of these a maximum of 670 polling booths are to be set at the Kavundampalayam constituency.
The electoral officials also said that "new polling stations and voting booths that are needed to be set-up at the 10 constituencies in Coimbatore have been identified. We are conducting investigations based on the political tense locations. At present we are planning to increase the number of polling stations" they said.
