District Collector Innocent Divya later today inaugurated a special hotline number 1098, on behalf of State Girl Children Protection Day held at the Ooty Tribal and Cultural Center with the help of the District Child Protection Office.
The Nilgiris: The Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya today made an announcement for tourists visiting The Nilgiris from other states.
During the announcement, the District Collector stated that “ the tourists visiting The Nilgiris district from Kerala and other states will only be allowed to enter after providing a Covid-19 clearance certificate. Tourists will also be checked for Covid-19, a no damage certificate and will also be asked to produce an e-registration which is mandatory.”

District Collector Innocent Divya then addressed the gathering and stated that “Our district has a huge number of migrant workers and this hotline service scheme will help in the protection of their children too.”

She then said that “ letters signed by the District Collector quoting "Your life is in your hands'' will be distributed to 1,15,000 students in schools to increase self-confidence among girls. During the event an oath was taken to emphasize the protection of girl children.”
