Communist Party of India State Secretary Mutharasan met with the reporters at the party office in Tirupur today.

Tirupur: Communist Party of India State Secretary Mutharasan met with the reporters at the party office in Tirupur today.

During his interaction he stated that “ There is no doubt that the BJP government at the center is a democratically elected government. But they did not function according to the democracy of India. Manner. BJP is behaving in a anti-democratic way in the states where BJP is not in power.

In Pondicherry, a rival government was run by the Governor under BJP and todaythe Pondicherry government has been dismissed and a presidential rule has been implemented in the state. Arresting protestors fighting for their rights as Naxals is reprehensible. The Tamil Nadu government is acting as a proxy government for the BJP.

The interim budget has been released considering the upcoming elections. By using this no new schemes were launched. But OPS has used around 2/12hours explaining the financial status of Tamilnadu.

With this report, a huge debt burden has been imposed on the people of Tamil Nadu. With the cancellation of co-operative loans, that system will collapse. During OPS’s tenure as CM in 2017, the loan which was then extended due to a severe drought, is not currently being waived in the waiver notice.

Textile industry in Tirupur has been severely affected due to the hike in the price of yarn. The price of yarn is at this stage because of the government’s decision which allows export without fulfilling domestic demand. Central and state governments must purchase the yarn and resell it at a reasonable price. Transport workers have been struggling and are conducting protests to seek the attention of the government. They have announced to go on an indefinite strike from tomorrow. General public will be mainly affected by this indefinite strike. Government must take immediate action to resolve this issue.” He said.
