Coimbatore: A cylinder was taken on funeral procession in front of the Red Cross Society in Coimbatore on behalf of the trade union wing of the Tamilnadu Muslim Munetra Kazhagam, Coimbatore against the rising petrol, diesel and gas prices across the country.
Party members, union members and transport unions across the country are continuously involved in protests against the upsurge in the prices of fuel and LPG gas cylinders.
During the protest undertaken by the Tamilnadu Muslim Muntrea Kazhagam, the members stated that “The price of crude oil per barrel has come down than the price during the Congress regime. The price surge is due to the high taxation issued by the Central Governments. This has affected people of all sectors and women entrepreneurs who use LPG gas cylinders. It is not fair from the Central government’s side as they haven’t curbed the fuel prices.”
Members of the Tamil Nadu Muslims Munnetra Kazhagam then requested the Central Government to take immediate actions regarding the unbearable price hike.
Earlier in the day, protesters marched in procession carrying empty gas cylinders and by pulling autos.
