Anganwadi workers and assistants who are protesting said that their situation has worsened during their 38 years of service for the Tamilnadu government.
As a part of their 3 point demand, the Anganwadi workers demand the Tamilnadu government to take immediate actions to provide regular basic pay, minimum retirement and pension scheme like other government authorities and 5-10 lakhs worker's fund for Anganwadi workers and assistants.
The protestors demonstrated by performing 'Oppari and Gummi' (tamil song form of eulogy) on the roads in front of the Coimbatore District Collectorate as they were denied permission to protest inside the Collector Office.
