Around 185 small time sellers were imposed with a fine of rupees 9,30,000 this year for the sales of banned tobacco products in the city.
Coimbatore: District Food Safety Officers issued a report today which said that around 48 restaurant owners in Coimbatore have been fined for 96,000 rupees this year for using low grade plastic for packing food.
Food Safety Officers stated that " A special coaching was given to over 60 food handlers and supervisors in Coimbatore who handle food at temples festivals. During the class, the attendees were given detailed information on how to know the standard of a product used in cooking, how to cook and distribute food by maintaining hygiene etc. We are also planning to give them certificate credits under the Food Safety Department."
District Food Safety Officials then added that " Measures are taken to provide hygiene credits to Eachanari Vinayagar Temple, Marudhamalai Murugan Temple, Koniamman Temple, Lakshmi Narasimar Temple and Perur Patteshwara Temple in Coimbatore district.
