Coimbatore: Violation of safety has ended up in suspension of license of a HPCL petrol bunk for 3 months which was functioning at PN Palayam in Coimbatore.
The land owner of the 'HPCL' petrol bunk at PN Palayam, V VenkataKrishna stated that " The petrol bunk was functioning on my land on a rental basis for the past 17 years. The 'HPCL' management without following the safety measures has got NOC (No Objection Certificate) from Police, Fire, Pollution control board etc. This information has been revealed through a petition filed through the RTI act. 'HPCL' has also been illegally occupying my land in which the petrol bunk was functioning.

According to the original land lease and agreement, the bunk was allowed to occupy 8,000 sq.feet. Whereas the HPCL company has occupied 11,810 sq.feet. We have separate proceedings for this violation. I have also sent a petition to the Commissioner of Police to cancel the NOC issued in my land which is illegally occupied by Hindustan Petroleum Company Limited."

"Explosive license has also been obtained without following the safety measures. Asm per the RTI information, the Central explosive department has given show cause notice seeking explanation. Since the reply given was not satisfactory, staff from the explosives department came directly for inspection and during that they personally noted and confirmed the violations. Following this the central explosives department has suspended the petrol bunk license for three months. Since there are more violations witnessed, District Authorities and Police departments should cancel the NOC given to this petrol bunk."
