A petition was submitted to the District Collector Tirupur on behalf of the Physiotherapist’s Council to have the Government of Tamilnadu make an amendment to the ordinance.
Tirupur: Members from the Council of Physiotherapists filed a petition at the Tirupur Collector’s Office today urging the government to scrap the ordinance made to establish the State Physiotherapy Council and requested to make necessary changes to it.
Members who filed the petition stated that the ordinance to set-up the State Physiotherapy Council is likely to affect the direct medical service of physiotherapists as the ordinance enforces physiotherapists not to use the prefix doctor while the physiotherapy doctors in other states like Punjab, Delhi and Maharashtra can still use the prefix.
Hence a petition was submitted to the Tirupur District Collector on behalf of the Physiotherapist’s Council to have the Government of Tamilnadu make an amendment to the ordinance.
