Tirupur: A protest was held on behalf of the Tamilnadu Anganwadi Workers and Assistants Association today in front of the Tirupur District Collector's Office, demanding the Tamilnadu government to immediately implement the announcement made by former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at the state assembly under rule 110 which makes Anganwadi workers as civil servants.
The protestors also demanded implementation of pension funds with basic pay along with the family pension scheme.

Tension erupted between the police officials and Anganwadi workers as the protestors tried to blockade the Tirupur District Collector's Office. Post this incident the members are continued with their protest.
