Anganwadi workers who have been working in child development projects and other government departments for the last 38 years should be informed that their condition is deteriorating and that at least Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 5 lakhs should be provided to the staff and assistants at the time of retirement, such as the minimum regular salary, the minimum pension for Anganwadi workers and the retirement of government employees. Coimbatore District President of the Tamil Nadu Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association R Shanthi said that the Tamil Nadu government should accept the demands and find a solution as soon as possible.

She added that although the Minister of Social Welfare of the State of Tamil Nadu had held talks with their association twice in four years in this regard, theirdemands had not been implemented and the former Chief Minister had accepted their demands and announced in the Assembly under Rule 110 and alleged that it had not yet been implemented.
