Coimbatore: Investigations are on as a private company employee tries to exchange counterfeit notes at bank.
An employee of a private bank on Pollachi Road came to pay Rs 2 lakh yesterday. He gave two lakh rupees to the bank employee for payment and out of suspicion the bank employee examined it and found that it contained 14 thousand rupees counterfeit notes.
After the bank manager informed the police about this, the police rushed there and seized 28,500 counterfeit notes worth Rs. 14,000. Following this, bank manager Selvakumar lodged a complaint at the Pollachi East police station and investigations are underway against Vijayakumar (34), a resident of Avalappampatti, who works in a private company.
