Coimbatore: Consultation meeting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Coimbatore on the 25th. Senior BJP leader Ila Ganesan met reporters on the sidelines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Coimbatore on the 25th to launch an election campaign to meet the public and to offer state welfare assistance. He said, "The only Congress supporting constituency in southern India was Pondicherry which is also on the verge of collapse. The reason could even be the arrival of Rahul Gandhi. The petrol and diesel prices had gone up at the time of the election due to inevitable reasons. It is to pay the debt incurred by the Congress during the regime."

He said, "There is a possibility of lower prices if petrol is brought under the single tax of GST. Prime Minister Modi would soon take steps to reduce inflation. PM Modi raised the hands of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister raised their hands to show that the BJP is in alliance with the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu. Sasikala was not welcomed by the people of Tamil Nadu. We appreciate the Government of Tamil Nadu for issuing the statement that government offices should write in Tamil without mixing English in the files. He demanded that Tamils should take an oath to sign in Tamil and speak in Tamil on Mother tongue Day tomorrow."
The statement on petrol price hike is contradicting the actual scenario where BJP govt has been in power for 7 years now and no real effort has been made over the duration to reduce prices even though BJP had consistently said that economy was way better than before.
