Over 5000 students to appear for National Means Cum Scholarship exams tone held tomorrow in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: As notified by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination, National Means Cum Scholarship (NMMS) Examination 2020 -2021 will be held tomorrow, February 21.
According to district officials, 5387, 8th grade students will take part in the exams to be held at 51 centres in Coimbatore, tomorrow. Students who clear the exam will benefit by receiving Rs 12,000 annually from Classes 9 to 12.
All Covid norms including screening, wearing masks and social distancing will be followed during the exams, the officials told.
Only Class 8 students from government, government-aided, panchayat and corporation schools whose family income is less than Rs 1.5 lakh are eligible to take up the exam are eligible for appearing for the NMMS scholarship exam.
The exam will be held in two parts - scholastic aptitude test and mental ability test. For SAT, questions will be from Class 8 and first two terms of Class 8 state board syllabus.
