'Spice Jet' temporarily suspends its services at Kovai: Recently 'GO AIR' suspended its services for a week
Coimbatore: Post the pandemic outbreak in 2020, aviation enthusiasts across the Kongu districts were feeling happy since the flight movements increased to 20 each day. Now the airlinesstarting to suspend their services has left passengers with shock and surprise.
At present both the flight and passengers movements at Coimbatore international airport have started to witness a steady growth. But all of a sudden airlines have started to temporarily suspend their services provided at Coimbatore airport. 'GO AIR' started its service between Coimbatore - Mumbai. They are also gearing up to add services to Chennai and Bengaluru. Recently the airline's management temporarily suspended the service provided to Mumbai for one week. Following this now 'Spice Jet' Airlines has temporarily suspended all its services at Coimbatore for more than one month.
Aviation Sources said, "Currently Spice jet airline is providing services to Chennai and Mumbai. These services have been temporarily suspended from February 19 till March 27. It has been said as due to 'OPERATIONAL REASONS'. The passenger movement is yet to pick up at Coimbatore airport. In spite more services are provided still there is some fear prevailing among the peoples mind and especially the news coming from Kerala which is very near to Coimbatore is also making an impact in the passenger movements. Previously 'GO AIR' also suddenly temporarily suspended their services for one week at Coimbatore airport. Now they have resumed the operations. Likewise 'Spice Jet' also would surely resume their services."
Sources from 'Spice Jet' also confirmed the temporary suspension of their services at Coimbatore international airport.
Kongu Global Forum(KGF) Director, D.Nanda Kumar said, "It is really shocking to hear and we request 'SpiceJet' airlines management to reconsider their decision and resume their services at the earliest."
