Tamil Language Rights protest urging various demands in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: A protest was held in Coimbatore urging various demands for the rights of Tamil Language.

A protest was organized at the entrance of the South Taluk office near the Coimbatore Red Cross in collaboration with the Coimbatore Tamil Sangam and Tamil Mozhi Kaappu Kootuiyakkam.

Duraisamy and Appavu presided over this and more than a hundred people attended and raised slogans about the Tamil language and the importance that should be given to the Tamil language and that Tamil language must be included in education at an early stage within the academic year.

The protest took place emphasizing 9-point demands including that tamil should be implemented as the official language in all fields, all children who may be in Tamil Nadu should be named in Tamil, Tamil language should be given prominence in government functions and weddings. It was attended by many, including Tamil activists from the Tamil Educational Institute.
