One arrested for selling counterfeit wires under V-Guard brand name in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Rs. 14 lakh 50 thousand worth of wires were confiscated and one was arrested in Coimbatore for counterfeiting V-guard brand.
When Rajkumar, who owns Icon Outsource Singh Pvt Ltd Delhi Company, did a marketing survey in Coimbatore, it was revealed that the V-Guard company in the area had sold the wires under a fake name at a shop called Bhagwati Electrical. He immediately reported it to the Intellectual Property Enforcement Division police.
They arrived at the scene and inspected the shop. It was then revealed that 1616 worth of fake V-Guard wires were being sold. Its total value was 14 lakh 50 thousand.

Anup Singh who sold the counterfeit wires was arrested. He was prosecuted and arrested under various laws including 486, 420, 51, 63 Copyright Act 1951.
