Coimbatore: Son-in-law killed and daughter attacked for reprimanding the illicit relationship of mother-in-law. The illicit lover Dhandapani has been arrested.
Rani is a widower from Mappillaikavundanpudur near Pollachi and has a daughter named Poongodi. Rani is said to have been in an illicit relationship with Dhandapani in the same area for the last ten years. She was condemned by both daughter Poongodi and her husband Durai which led to frequent arguments between Dhandapani and Rani. Rani and Dhandapani were together when her daughter Poongodi and her husband Durai came there yesterday. This led to a dispute and Dhandapani stabbed both of them with a knife.
Hearing the screams, the public in the neighborhood rescued the two who were covered in blood and took them to the hospital. Durai died tragically on the way to the hospital and Poongodi has been admitted to Coimbatore Government Hospital in a life-threatening condition. Vadakkipalayam police arrived at the scene and recovered the body of the deceased and sent it for autopsy. Dhandapani tried to escape but was arrested, charged with murder, produced in court and imprisoned in Udumalai Jail.
