Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KDMK) took part in a signature drive to get the attention of the government to execute their demand to make Pollachi a district.

Various small areas in Tamil Nadu have all been converted into districts, whereas Pollachi has not been made into a district for various reasons due to its population and area. In this situation various struggles are taking place to turn Pollachi into a district.
Meanwhile multiple protests are taking part in Pollachi to make it a district. Traders Association, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the public have put up banners across Pollachi to be made into a seperate District.
Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi demanded Pollachi be made a district and organised a signature drive near the Pollachi bus stand area today. Coimbatore South District Secretary of the party Nithiyanandam was the first to sign and launch the program. The public eagerly came and participated in the signature drive.
