Works intensified to set up gallery to seat over 12,000 spectators for Jallikattu on 21st
Coimbatore: Works intensified to set up gallery to seat over 12,000 spectators for Jallikattu on 21st February. Jallikattu competitions are scheduled to be held on the 21st in Coimbatore Vellalore area. Work is in progress to set up a stage, pavilion, stage and ground. An auditorium has been set up to seat 12,000 people and work is in full swing. It is scheduled to take place at a short distance from the Kanjikonampalayampirivu next to Vellalore, on the L&T By-Pass Road.
The Coimbatore Jallikattu Sangam, in collaboration with the Coimbatore District Administration, is making arrangements. The works were inspected by Jallikattu Sangam President Anbarasan and executives. Currently, work is underway to set up a gallery that will seat about 10 to 12 thousand people and Vadivasal is set up with three layers.
Halls are being set up for VIP, gallery, police, medical team. Only 400-500 bulls are said to be participating and of these, 300 bulls belong to areas within the district. A gold coin prize awaits the players.
