Citing Madras High Court order, representatives from FOGDA have been demanding implementation of pay band-4 at 12 years of service, 50% service quota in post graduate medical education, conduct of transfer and promotion counselling in a transparent manner and rectifying the discrepancies in G.O. including restoring 600 doctor posts.
However, the doctors who are members of FOGDA have begun work wearing demand badges across all the Government Medical Colleges, ESI hospital and other primary health care institutions in the state.
"No such doctors affiliated to FOGDA are at Coimbatore. FOGDA is a forum with at least 6000 doctors across the state which got seperated from Tamil Nadu Government Doctor Association (TNGDA). No doctors affiliated with TNGDA took part in the protest", said Dr.Ravishankar, Tamil Nadu Secretary for TNGDA.
FOGDA have also planned to protest in Chennai on 28th February, if the talks between government goes unheard.
