BJP State Election committee members, Home Affairs Minister Kishan Reddy and Transport and Highways Minister VK Singh today inaugurated the KalKol Vizha today at the venue for the beginning of stage works.

Later BJP State President L Murugan addressed the media and said that "Rajnath Singh is expected to begin his election campaign in Salem on 21st which will be followed by National leaders visiting Tamilnadu. Meetings regarding elections are scheduled to happen for two days in Coimbatore and Chennai."
When asked about the continuous price hike of fuel and LPG cylinders, L Murugan said that the price hike was temporary and that it was because of the price hike of oil companies.
He then said that this hike in prices will not affect the BJP party in the upcoming elections and the prices for fuel and LPG cylinders will gradually come down. Gas subsidy has not been stopped, an account for it is being maintained."
