Coimbatore: Police intensifies search to nab culprits who attacked woman inspector's husband and hijacked his car.
The husband of a woman traffic inspector was traveling in a car near Coimbatore when an unidentified gang hit the car from behind, attacked him and pushed him out and hijacked the car. The incident has caused a stir in Coimbatore. Police said they are looking for the gang which attacked the inspector's husband near Coimbatore and hijacked the car.
Vincent Kumar, 48, is from RS Puram, Coimbatore and is an Interior Decorator. His wife is a traffic police inspector in Gobichettipalayam. Yesterday, Vincent was traveling towards Kerala by car on the Coimbatore-Palakkad National Highway.
At around 7:30 in the morning, a car coming from behind suddenly stopped in front of Vincent's car passing near Marappalam in Madukkarai. The mob then smashed the windshield of Vincent's car, hit him on the head and back with an iron bar. Then, they pushed him down and hijacked the car. He lodged a complaint with the Madukkarai police. During the investigation, it was revealed that six people were involved in the gang incident and police have begun the investigation. There have been two car hijacking incidents in the same spot in the last three months, at car carrying with hawala money. As there is no 'CCTV' camera the gang is taking advantage of this and are continuously indulging in the crime.
