A 35-year-old man was found dead near the Vadavalli pond in Coimbatore with his face covered in a plastic bag and his neck tied with a rope.
Coimbatore: Nagarajapuram pond is located at the Veerakeralam area in Coimbatore.
Passers-by this morning were shocked to find the body of a 35-year-old man covered with a polythene cover on his face. Later they informed the police officials regarding the body near the pond.
A confusion has arised now since the pond comes under the limits of RS Puram, Vadavalli and Selvapuram. Police officials are confused on who should handle the case which has delayed in the recovery and investigation of the body.
The body was recovered from the pond and placed on the shore. Police officials said the village administration officer has been called to decide which police station should handle the case. The investigation of the case will begin only after the verdict of the village officer’s decision.
The cause of death and the dead person’s identity is still unknown. This caused commotion due to the delay in registering the case.
