A CCTV camera at a nearby building has recorded the chilling footage of the accident which shows the speeding bike colliding into the van.
Tirupur: Mahendran belonged to the Mayilrangam area in Vellakovil, Tirupur District. He and his friends Raju and Nishanth from the same area were driving on the Coimbatore - Nagapattinam Highway towards Kangeyam.
Meanwhile a van from Sulur, Coimbatore was going in front of the bike. Unfortunately the van made an unprecedented turn before a petrol bunk which caused the speeding bike to crash upon the van.
Due to the force of the crash the van also collapsed.
Mahendran who sustained heavy injuries to his head died on the spot. His friends Raju, Nishanth and two members in the van sustained injuries.
Vellakovil police arrived immediately at the scene recovered the victims and sent the injured people to a private hospital in Tirupur. Mahendran's body was sent to the government hospital in Kangeyam.
