Robbery attempt at a private financial institution: 2 crore worth gold and money saved
Coimbatore: An attempt to break the shutter and steal from a private financial institution operating in the Podanur area of Coimbatore failed and jewellery and money worth crores were saved. A private financial institution that provides jewelery loans called 'Intel Money is located near the Gandhi Nagar bus stop next to Sundarapuram.
Podanur police were informed of the attempt. Police and the fingerprint experts arrived there, opened the shutters and went inside. The lockers where the jewelry was kept were not broken.
Examination of CCTV camera recordings revealed that the two had opened the shutters at around midnightthe day before yesterday and went out a minute later. When the manager Kathirvelu was enquired it was found that there was six kilos of gold jewelery worth Rs 2 crore and cash of Rs 1.5 lakh were inside the locker.
Police are searching for those involved in the robbery attempt. The incident, which took place near the National Highway, has caused a stir in the area.
