Youth arrested under POCSO for raping sister's friend by promising to marry her
Coimbatore: Police have arrested and jailed a youth in Pollachi for impregnating his sister's under-aged friend by promising to marry her. The accused is an 18-year-old boy from Pollachi, Coimbatore district, and the victim who was sexually harassed is a 16-year-old girl in Pollachi.
The parents reprimanded the girl for roaming with the boy and sent her to her aunt's house in Palakkad Kerala. As she complained of stomach ache she was examined at the Palakkad Government Hospital and it was revealed that the girl was pregnant. Based on the information given by the Nemmara police, the Pollachi East police interrogated the girl's parents and arrested the boy under the POCSO Act.
