Few days ago a farmer Ayyasamy, 40, of Madheshakavundar Road, Theethipalayam near Perur was killed in a gunshot while they were hunting with a gun in the forest near Coimbatore. Police have registered a case and arrested 5 huntsmen. Their bail petition came up for hearing yesterdayand the trial judge dismissed the bail petitions of all 5.
On the 18th of last month, they went with their friends in the hilly region to hunt wild boar and rabbit. While loading the country gun, it suddenly accidentally fired at Ayyasamy and he died on the spot. All five abandoned the body and fled. Perur police investigated and arrested Ayyasamy's friends Raman, 32, Patteeswaran, 20, R. Ranganathan, 24, K. Ranganathan, 26, and Chinnaraj, 23, from Theethipalayam. They filed a case in the Coimbatore District Sessions Court seeking release on bail but the trial judge dismissed all their bail pleas.
